چکیده
We specifically analyzed Cayley trees with degree k ∈ {2, · · · 6}. For each link (i, j), the weight of a loan lij was drawn uniformly in [1 − ε, 1 + ε]. We analyzed 4 values of ε, from 0.1 to 0.4, in addition to ε = 0. This was done for 102 networks for each degree k and perturbation ε, and the resulting number of failures was measured. Figure A shows the results for R = 1.02, r = 1.01, f = 50% and for two values of Λ, namely Λ = 1% (left) and Λ = 3% (right), for which (k∗(1), k∗(2)) = (16, 3) and (k∗(1), k∗(2)) = (10, 2) respectively.

Mapping Systemic Risk: Critical Degree and Failures Distribution in Financial Networks
The financial crisis illustrated the need for a functional understanding of systemic risk in strongly interconnected financial structures. Dynamic processes on complex networks being intrinsically difficult to model analytically, most recent studies of this problem have relied on numerical simulations. Here we report analytical results in a network model of interbank lending based on directly r...
متن کاملDebtRank-transparency: Controlling systemic risk in financial networks
Nodes in a financial network, such as banks, cannot assess the true risks associated with lending to other nodes in the network, unless they have full information on the riskiness of all other nodes. These risks can be estimated by using network metrics (as DebtRank) of the interbank liability network. With a simple agent based model we show that systemic risk in financial networks can be drast...

The issue of credit risk and deferred bank claims is one of the sensitive issues of banking industry, which can be considered as the main cause of bank failures. In recent years, the economic slowdown accompanied by inflation in Iran has led to an increase in deferred bank claims that could put the country's banking system in serious trouble. Accordingly, the current paper presents a prediction...
متن کاملBank’s Corporate Governance: Quantifying the Effects in Iranian Banking Networks
The most important tool for promoting the bank’s stability and health is the establishment of a standard corporate governance structure for managing the bank's business. Redesigning the relationships between bank management, shareholders and the rest of the bank’s stockholder, including the objectives, the risk and audit indices, and internal control of the bank, is recognized as the foundation...
متن کاملIndividual versus systemic risk and the Regulator's Dilemma.
The global financial crisis of 2007-2009 exposed critical weaknesses in the financial system. Many proposals for financial reform address the need for systemic regulation--that is, regulation focused on the soundness of the whole financial system and not just that of individual institutions. In this paper, we study one particular problem faced by a systemic regulator: the tension between the di...
